Main Deposits

We find them scattered all over the planet, but it must be said that the most precious quartz crystals are those found in the mines of Brazil, without forgetting the specimens from China or the famous Herkimers from the United States.

Description and Characteristics

Rock crystal is hyaline (transparent and colourless) macrocrystalline quartz. It forms from silica-rich solutions that crystallise within cavities in igneous or metamorphic rocks, or in hydrothermal veins. Due to the absence of chemical impurities, it is perfectly colourless. It grows in hexagonal prisms terminated by pyramids and is the standard of purity in the mineral kingdom. It has been used since prehistoric times to make tools and, later, sacred and optical objects.

Did you know...?

The name ‘quartz’ derives from the Greek word ‘kristallos’, meaning ‘ice’.

The ancient Greeks believed that rock crystal was eternal ice that had frozen in such a way that it could never melt again (hence the name krystallos, meaning ice). This also gave rise to the tradition of “crystal balls” for seeing the future, due to their ability to clarify vision.

New-Age Properties

Quartz is the most powerful energy healer and amplifier on the planet. It absorbs, stores, releases, and regulates energy, and is excellent for unblocking it. It brings energy to its most perfect state.
Spiritually, it raises energy to the highest possible level and works on all levels of being. Used in meditation, quartz filters out distractions and, on a mental level, promotes concentration and activates memory.
On a healing level, quartz is a master healer and can be used for any ailment while harmonizing all the chakras of the body.
